For the past three years, the Pissarides Review into the Future of Work and Wellbeing - funded by the Nuffield Foundation - has been conducting cutting-edge research into how AI and automation technologies are impacting work and working lives across the UK.
Now, in this cross-UK closing conference - with satellite venues in Cornwall, Manchester, Wales and Scotland joining discussions in The Shard in London - implications of this work led by Nobel Prize-winning economist Professor Sir Christopher Pissarides will be discussed as the final report is published.
Convened by the Institute for the Future of Work, the event will feature leading figures from the worlds of research, business and policy to unpack how this research can build a fairer future of better work.
Going beyond presentation of discrete policy recommendations, we will be proposing a holistic model reframing the idea of growth via a new socio-technical innovation system focused on people, planet and productivity.
Panels will discuss how this can be deployed across system, firm and worker-levels, and feature input from discussions on local actions from regional satellites at each stage.
This will be a full-service conference starting with breakfast refreshments, and including lunch. We expect demand to be high, so please do put a hold in diaries now. Tickets will become available on 27th November at 1pm.
